Densons Creek Golf Course opened in May of 2009. The course is the former Montgomery County Golf Course which opened in 1952. The course was originally only 9 holes but another 9 holes were soon added, and today it is a very testing 18-hole Championship Course.
Densons Creek Golf Course is a public course and offers memberships to both county and out of county residents. The course features 6,550 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 72. The course rating is 71.7 and it has a slope of 124. The course was designed by Phil McCriston.
The town of Troy has recently leased the Denson Creek Golf Course to Art Colasanti, a seasoned golf professional with 47 years of experience. Colasanti, who earned his PGA card in 1975, spent 30 years with Club Corporation of America, a top private club company in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. After retiring in 2013, he got bored and bought Whispering Woods Golf Club in Pinehurst in September 2020.
Colasanti has been working hard to bring Whispering Woods back to its former glory. Dan Maples, a well-known golf course designer, suggested he check out Denson Creek. After visiting the course, Colasanti reached out to Greg Zephir and Craig Jones, and they worked out a plan for him to take over. Starting January 1, 2024, Colasanti will manage Denson Creek Golf Course under a lease agreement.
